See and Learn Webinar –

Down syndrome Ireland is delighted to present See and Learn Training!

See and Learn is an evidence-based, structured teaching program designed to support children with Down syndrome in improving their speechlanguage and reading. See and Learn offers specialised resources tailored to meet the specific learning needs of children with Down syndrome. The program is informed by the latest scientific evidence related to children’s development, learning difficulties, and effective interventions.

Areas Covered in the webinar:

  1. Speech: The See and Learn Speech program helps children with Down syndrome hear and produce speech sounds, understand differences between sounds, develop their speech sound system, and produce clear speech.
  2. Language and Reading: The See and Learn Language and Reading program focuses on early vocabulary, sight words, simple phrases, sentences, and grammar rules. Learning to read provides visual representations of language concepts, supporting spoken language development. See and Learn resources are designed to be user-friendly both at home and in schools. Children with Down syndrome often benefit from explicit instruction and ample practice. These resources facilitate regular teaching and practice. They guide children through appropriate developmental steps, ensuring they learn what they are ready for.
