AIM Level 5 Equipment – Transfer of Ownership

Following the transition of AIM Level 5, the Transfer of Ownership process for AIM Level 5 equipment will open in early March 2023 on the Early Years Hive.

The Transfer of Ownership of equipment from Pobal & DCEDIY to the relevant party occurs at the end of the child’s participation in the ECCE programme. The completion of this process will determine the destination and ownership of the Level 5 equipment item.

As per the AIM rules, section 7.20 “Pre-school providers and parent(s)/guardian(s) must engage with Pobal in relation to the transfer of ownership of equipment (including returning signed transfer of ownership forms, as appropriate).

Equipment provided under AIM Level 5 should not be removed from the pre-school until the transfer of ownership process is completed.”

A ‘How to Guide’ and Training Webinars will be available to service providers prior to the commencement of the Transfer of Ownership process.

Garda Vetting in Early Years Services

Garda Vetting is a legal requirement for anyone undertaking “relevant work or activity”, as defined in the National Vetting Bureau (Children And Vulnerable Persons) Act 2012. The Act also creates offences and penalties for persons who fail to comply with its provisions.

The Barnardos’ Vetting Service can process your vetting applications for all categories of Early Years Services.

Barnardos can also process vetting applications for self-employed Childminders.

There isno feefor Early Years Services or Childminders for using this service.

Unfortunately Barnardos cannot process vetting applications for active current members of Early Childhood Ireland.

Update re Parental Agreement and Co-Payment tool

The deadline for updating parental agreements for NCS is March 2nd, 2023. The Co-Payment tool and/or the semi-automated Parental Agreements are based on the information inputted by Service Providers and does not include NCS closure periods. Therefore, Providers should review the calculations to ensure they are correct for the service’s particular circumstances. If there are additional unfunded days, the calculations will need to be adjusted.
