NCS calendars

As we approach the festive period, now is the time to check that your calendars reflect your service closures and whether they are subsidised (paid) or not. Every service that is open for 50+ weeks, is entitled to 10 subsidised (paid) closures, pro rata for those operating less than that. Further information on making adjustments to your calendar can be found here:

Non-term hours

These hours can be used to cover additional hours for school-aged children over the Christmas holidays. Details of how to add non-term hours can be found on the Hive here:

There is also a video guide to adding non-term hours here:

CHICKs ending

Subsidy awards last for 52 weeks so many will have ended or will be ending in the coming weeks. Don’t forget to review your registrations and make sure that you discuss continuing childcare needs with parents and remind them to apply for a new CHICK.

Bridging payments

These payments are available if your service is closed and you won’t be completing returns. If you are availing of subsided closures and you wish to be paid, you should opt for the bridging payment. The system should recognise you are coming up to a subsidised closure and offer you a bridging payment.

In case you missed it - Hive refresher webinar

All of the above was covered in Pobal’s refresher webinar. If you were unable to attend the webinars held last week, you can access a recording here:
