If you are applying for a force majeure closure, we have attached the latest version of the application form. The completed form and any accompanying documentation should be uploaded to the Hive by attaching it to a service request. Put force majeure in the summary heading and select ‘programme request’ from the drop down menu.

Supporting parents to ‘preschool at home’

We know that you have been reaching out to your families in order to help them ‘preschool at home’. Don’t forget that there are resources on the First 5 website for parents that you can use, offering your expertise and knowledge on how parents can extend those activities for their children. These resources will be added to in the coming days and can be found here: https://first5.gov.ie/parents/preschool-at-home

If you have AIM staff employed in your service who are reaching out to the children they would normally be working with, there are resources on the AIM website here https://aim.gov.ie/resources/ and the National Council for Special Education website here https://ncse.ie/teachers-early-years that they may find useful.

We are trying our best to help services contacting us with queries stemming from the FAQs. However, we are working from the same documents as you are. We are forwarding queries that we can’t answer to both Pobal and the DCEDIY for clarification.

Kind regards

Westmeath County Childcare Committee
