FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

CCS merging with CCSP

Yesterday Minister Zappone announced that CCS would no longer be available once the programme closes in August. But don’t panic, CCSP is continuing for 2019/20.

CCSP subvention rates are the same as CCS. The only difference is that children can be registered for CCSP throughout the year.

Services who were running CCS in 2018/19 can continue to do so until the end of the programme. For September 2019, services can activate the CCSP contract and continue to offer that scheme to parents.

All of the current childcare schemes will run alongside the new affordable scheme for one year to allow everyone to transition to the new scheme. We will be offering information and training sessions to all services about the new childcare scheme, so keep an eye on the bulletin for details.

Deferral of 12:1 ratio for school-aged childcare services

Stand alone school aged services are coming under regulation for the first time from 18 February (see bulletin dated 18/01/19). The new regulations have set the child: adult ratio at 12:1. There was some confusion as to when this ratio would take effect. Minister Zappone has amended the regulations to defer the new ratio for 6 months to end August to allow everyone the time to transition to this new arrangement.
