Newsletter 27th April 2018

Dear Colleagues,

Here are the important dates and information to note for the week 23 – 27 April 2018.

27 April – Pobal sector profile survey closing date *TODAY*

Thesector profile is on PIP. See below for details.

Pobal sector profile survey

The sector profile survey has been extended this year to capture information that will be useful in planning and policy development. From a Cork perspective, the information will help us respond to services and to planning queries. We really would encourage you to complete the survey.

The survey is on PIP, when you log in you will see a link ‘Early Years Service Profile 2017/18’ on the service page.

If you have any questions or need help filling out the survey, you can contact us or the Pobal helpdesk.

Diversity, Equality and Inclusion training

As you know, we have been offering DEI training to ECCE services since last year. This training will be finished at the end of June 2018. We email all services with details of the upcoming courses and how to book.

The next EDI training will commence on ;

May training

Tuesday               May 1st                 1pm – 7pm

Thursday             May 3rd                 1pm - 4pm

Tuesday               May 8th                1pm - 4pm

Thursday             May 10th              1pm - 4pm

Please do not leave booking until the last minute as the maximum number for each course is 16 participants. If you have booked a place on a course and you are unable to attend, please let the office know as soon as possible so that we can try and fill the place.

In some locations we have struggled to find participants. The course requires a minimum of 6 participants to proceed. If a course is not booking up, we will contact services to try and make up the numbers. However, if we cannot get the minimum number of participants, we may have to cancel the course at short notice.

 Reminder of the week

This week’s reminder:

Pobal compliance – have you checked your checklist recently? The checklist will ensure that you are ready for your Pobal compliance visit, we have attached a copy to this email.

Pobal are finding services non-compliant over the following issues:

  • Attendance records – there are gaps or times in and out aren’t recorded. Pobal have guidelines for attendance records with a sample sheet on PIP. We have attached a copy to this email for your convenience.

  • Parent declaration forms are not signed or not on site
